Steve grew up in Brooklyn, NY and started playing guitar at the age of 13. By the time he was 15 he was already performing live in New York's Catskill Mountains, where he spent summer weekends playing poolside by day and in casinos at night.
Steve was fortunate to attend high school in Brooklyn at a time where there was a burgeoning music scene. While playing in cover bands in local bars he had the opportunity to meet and learn from a wide range of talented musicians.
While attending college and law school in Brooklyn, he worked as a freelance guitarist and music director. Throughout his career in finance, Steve has continued to perform and record with a variety of groups in styles spanning from Rock to R&B to Dance to Country.
Over the years Steve has performed with many well-known artists, including Shirley Alston Reeves, the Shirelles and the Teenagers, just to name a few. He has appeared on television and radio, and throughout the tri-state area in many prestigious venues, including Madison Square Garden, the Izod Center, the Nassau Coliseum and on Broadway. Some personal performance highlights include playing the Star Spangled Banner to a sold out stadium before a Brooklyn Cyclones baseball game and a recent benefit concert where he shared the stage for the first time ever with his son Jake, an up-and-coming Sax player.
Steve is excited to have recently joined Sangha Tierra, both for the opportunity to collaborate with a great group of musicians and to continue to broaden his musical horizons by exploring new genres.
"One good thing about music, when it hits you feel no pain."
